Senior Trademark Legal Counsel

The Professional Technical Qualifications (PTQs) for this position are:

1. Knowledge of trademark law, rules and procedures in appeals and inter partes cases at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, rules and procedures affecting trademark examination, and related policy issues.
2. Ability to oversee and litigate federal court cases on behalf of the USPTO that involve trademark and/or copyright issues, including formulating legal strategies and preparing briefs.
3. Ability to communicate, negotiate, and work effectively with representatives from other offices or agencies on trademark-related issues and to advocate for USPTO positions at all levels of engagement.
4. Ability to lead a team of attorneys and other professionals who provide advice to agency clients about trademark and copyright law and oversee related litigation.
