Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Systems and Vehicle Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to lead or support major systems and vehicle projects for our key customers in the DC metro area.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead or support the integration of train control systems, communications systems, and transit vehicles
- Analyze technical designs proposed by train control suppliers, communications contractors, and vehicle manufacturers with regard to mechanical, electrical, and network interfaces
- Determine possible solutions in the best interest of customers
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish and execute on plans for improving KPIs
- Identify technical and commercial risks on systems and railcar projects
- Identify deviations from requirements in documents submitted by contractors
- Interface with customers, systems contractors, vehicle manufacturers, and Parsons colleagues to identify technical options, costs and risks and establish priorities
- Participate in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of systems projects
- Support business growth by providing technical input to key proposals
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 20+ years of related work experience,
- Significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel. Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required.
- In-depth knowledge of train control systems, communications systems, and transit railcars
- Experience in staff management
- Knowledge of relevant technical standards and requirements for systems and vehicle projects
- Good written and oral communication skills
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required.
- Experience as a senior engineer with a transit agency, systems contractor, or vehicle manufacturer
- Experience with train control, communications, or vehicle programs for transit agencies

Salary Range:
$136,200.00 - $245,200.00
