Senior Transportation Planner

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Transportation Planner is a critical role within the Peloton North American Logistics organization. The Senior Transportation Planner is responsible for the planning and execution of drayage, forward-stocking, and reverse transportation for the US and Canada. This role is also the liaison between inventory deployment and transportation service providers within the North American distribution network. The mission of the North American Transportation team is to ensure a successful delivery experience for customers, while optimizing the costs of Peloton’s global supply chain. The Senior Planner role is critical to achieving the team’s mission, and affords many opportunities to lead initiatives, be involved in many areas of logistics and transportation, and grow with Peloton.Â
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Plan, organize, and execute truckload and parcel movements for CFUs and Accessories within Peloton’s North American DC networkÂ
- Organize and manage the drayage of ocean containers to and from ports efficiently while minimizing costsÂ
- Execute the transportation of return inventory from last mile hubs to regional DCs and refurbishment centersÂ
- Maintain the current inbound and outbound appointment capacity, calendar schedule, and limitations of North American distribution centers and last mile locationsÂ
- Establish, maintain, and own the inbound/outbound forecast and schedule for Peloton North American distribution centersÂ
- React to unplanned inbound/outbound capacity constraints (weather, geo-political events) and minimize downstream impactÂ
- Identify and resolve daily exceptions that arise in a timely and cost effective mannerÂ
- Daily and weekly reporting/communication with FTL/LTL providers and stakeholders to drive metrics and compliance
- Act as point of contact for transportation service providersÂ
- Facilitate communications and resolve issues between transportation service providers and DC operations in real time to ensure the flow of goods continuesÂ
- Collect all approved market rated shipments and provide them to the 3rd party freight auditor
- Execute logistics activities and projects while ensuring assigned target dates are metÂ
- Maintain SOP documentation for the processes associated with this role; create or revise standard operating procedures for existing processes
- Strong participation in team activities, establish priorities, schedule and track project assignments, while providing the appropriate guidance to cross-functional team members
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 3+ years of professional experience (FTL & Intermodal experience preferred)Â
- BS/BA in a related field requiredÂ
- Strong interpersonal skills, including experience working with warehouses and logistics providersÂ
- Experience with a TMS preferred
- Strong MS Excel skills a mustÂ
- Keen to go deep into problems when necessary, but elevate to 80/20 problem solvingÂ
- Efficiently move between working autonomously and collaborativelyÂ
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards actionÂ
- Strong financial competence, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organizational agility: capable of interacting with people in various levels in the organizationÂ
- Passionate about team accountability and development while driving process improvements
Base Salary: $103,200.00Â to $134,000.00
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
