Senior UI/UX Designer

Our end-to-end (from sample collection to biomarker data) suite of solutions are focused on providing sponsors information (data with context) – we do this by connecting biospecimen, assay as well as clinical data sources in a secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure, enabling seamless, automated data management workflows, key insight development, improved collaboration, and the ability to make faster, more informed decisions.

Position Summary:

The Senior UI / UX designer will join our QuartzBio team and will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of QuartzBio’s cutting-edge technology solutions. The successful candidate will ensure that all elements of the user experience incorporate exceptional visual design and are optimized for improved usability and usefulness, and ensure design elements provide a consistent experience for end-users across QuartzBio’s technology solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI / UX design problems by applying industry best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

• Investigates user experience design requirements for our suite of software and technology assets.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and domain experts to define requirements, specifications, and design solutions.
• Synthesizes requirements across the team to create an overall design strategy.
• Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UI / UX design strategy for software and technology products and solutions across assets and applications.
• Lead the design of UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our software and digital assets, ensuring all elements designed by the team present a common and cohesive look and feel.
• Lead the design of graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets, ensuring all elements designed by the team present a common and cohesive look and feel.
• Serve as a producer for UI, working alongside project management to ensure positive communication and problem solving between disciplines.
• Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
• Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how applications may function and be consumed.
• Conduct user research, user testing, and analyze user feedback to identify user needs and pain points to guide design decisions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Media Arts, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years UI/UX design industry experience for software and technology products or services to include:
• A working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Figma, Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite. Equivalent technologies and software are acceptable.
• Demonstrated understanding of SaaS solutions software and technologies
• A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for software applications and web and mobile platforms.
• Experience working through product design and development life cycle
