Senior UX Designer
Job Description
About Us
The future of transportation is electric and our software solves the most critical emerging grid integration challenges to ensure that the impending energy transition is clean, equitable, and resilient. Our enterprise solutions help the grid absorb the coming electrification wave with ease. Utilizing modern, cloud-native platform architecture and robust systems optimization, WeaveGrid’s software is built from the ground up to tackle the most critical network challenges while meeting the stringent regulatory, security, and reliability requirements of the utility industry.
About the Role
This is an incredible UX opportunity in ClimateTech! WeaveGrid seeks an enterprising Senior Experience Designer to join our design team. This position will report to the UX Lead. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering, as well as partners in Data Science, Client Solutions, User Support, and Business Development to define the strategy of the driver experience and software service.
Our team is evolving the charging experience for electric vehicle drivers. This role supports design efforts for iteration, new features, and new product lines. You will help raise the bar of product excellence as we prioritize building beautiful, accessible, forward-looking solutions and services to empower vehicle electrification.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex business problems across multiple stakeholders and customer groups. You’ll deliver value by optimizing business outcomes and solving user needs. You are comfortable wearing many hats and being a generalist– from conducting user research and internal brainstorming sessions, presenting findings and designs to stakeholders, sketching and prototyping UI for development, and pairing with Product and Engineering to uncover edge cases and limitations.
Core Responsibilities
- Shape, develop and deliver high quality user experience that advances our mission to drive rapid decarbonization at the intersection of transportation and energy.
- Hands-on UX contributor throughout the product development cycle.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Client Solutions, and User Support to define problems & goals, map user flows, research needs, and prototype interactions
- Facilitate and participate in research, from interviews to usability testing, to iterative concept testing
- Scope and plan interactions in partnership with PMs, engineers, and other subject matter experts by mapping user flows and facilitating design thinking sessions to address complex design challenges
- Develop and maintain a keen understanding of the technological, business, and user opportunities and constraints
- Support of collateral and materials for internal and external presentations and demos
- Evangelize user experience and user research throughout the organization, supporting the UX fluency of your colleagues.
You are a team player, committed to helping colleagues and accomplishing shared goals. You have passion for the problem, and empathy for the users. You have an insatiable desire to help users succeed.
You embrace the swift changes and ambiguity in start-up growth phases. You nurture strong working relationships across all levels of function and make your collaborators successful. You help teams navigate ambiguity, set vision, and set strategy for existing and new products.
Research, research, research. No game-changing software experience was ever produced by mistake. You seek out compelling evidence for your decisions, and adapt quickly to new customer needs in support of innovative programs. You don’t take claims at face value and seek to test the hunches you develop. You are structured and methodical in your work, developing artifacts that are easy for your partners and collaborators to understand and build from.
You’re excited to define and build complex, data driven products that deliver results and delight customers. You’re ready to deliver on complex offerings balancing the needs of multiple users, ecosystem stakeholders and internal teams while ensuring your engineering partners have clear priorities and are enabled to succeed.
You want to apply your talents to meaningfully address risks from climate change. In particular, you share the WeaveGrid team’s commitment to achieving outcomes that support the shift to electrified transport and a decarbonized electric grid.

- Clear and succinct communication practices - verbally and in writing
