Senior UX Designer / Researcher

Agile Six is looking for a talented senior user experience designer to join a cross-functional Agile team to develop and enhance one or more digital products on the VA.gov platform that help Veterans find information and resources and access their benefits. Most importantly, you will have a passion for working on important problems that have a lasting impact on millions of users and make a difference in our government!

• Drive the Veteran-facing user experience for one or more products on VA.gov by:
• Leading user research efforts, including discovery, synthesis, and documenting the results and findings
• Leading the UX writing and editorial experience efforts in the Drupal CMS.
• Collaboratively creating and evolving user stories and acceptance criteria with the Product Owner and wider scrum team
• Owning the design process by leveraging and extending an existing component-based design system
• Clearly articulating your design vision through verbal and written explanation, sketching, or quick mock-ups to small or large groups, from designers to the leadership team
• Providing content and design guidance to cross-functional teams regarding software design and implementation, capturing all states, edge-cases, and path logic for visual UI design and engineering teams to build out
• Collaborating with your product owner and front-end engineers to ensure implementation matches design intent across all design components
• Collaborating with your content and interaction designers to ensure the Drupal content model supports the Veteran-facing design
• Keeping the UX work in sync with the product roadmap and flag delays or issues in content and design
• Communicating and collaborating with stakeholders and team members across a range of disciplines throughout the Department of Veterans Affairs

• At least seven years of experience working as UX designer or related position in collaboration with digital product teams (enterprise environment a plus)
• Portfolio illustrating your process and samples of native product design work driven by quantitative and qualitative user research
• Understands human-centered design, interaction design fundamentals, and UI design best practices, including accessibility
• Proficient in Figma and modern prototyping tools
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and other designers, seeking and providing feedback in an Agile environment
• Is adaptive, empathetic, collaborative and holds a positive mindset
• Ability to be autonomous and can take initiative

• Experience working with government agencies
• You are a U.S. Veteran

To promote equal pay for equal work, we publish set salary ranges for each position. 

The salary for this position is $135,812 - $142,777
