“Have we ever done research on XYZ?” is one of the most common questions Researchers and their partners ask at Dropbox. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving a culture and a practice that enables Dropboxers to build on what we already know in a scalable, impactful way and drive customer-centricity into our practices.
You’ll be helping us get the most out of the Research our team conducts by building and leading our Research and Insights team’s knowledge management practice by launching our Research library and promoting and enabling the discovery and adoption of Research Insights across the company.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, implement and manage a knowledge management practice and process for Research and Insights
- Improve the quality of new research and trust in Research and Insights by enabling Researchers to build off of past research. You’ll do this by:
- Driving tooling including updating the existing Research repository, building a new Research and Insights Library and driving adoption amongst Researchers
- Promoting good data practices for Researchers by advancing archiving, governance, and data hygiene
- Advance the visibility, discoverability and adoption of insights by:
- Developing processes, tooling, services and training to promote data triangulation, secondary research, insights exploration, and operationalizing information requests for different audiences including Researchers and cross functional partners
- Cultivating a shared understanding of research outputs and deliverables and enabling the uptake of Research insights
- Partner with Researchers and Research leadership to define how insights are recorded, managed, curated, discovered, visualized and used
- Manage access to external resources such as industry reports and electronic journals
- Manage and socialize secondary resources, manage access to external resources
- Develop success metrics, track, communicate and drive improvements to the knowledge management practice
- Partner with other Insights Functions (Customer Experience, Data Science, Competitive Intelligence, Marketing) and Business Partners (ITS, Privacy & Legal) to drive engagement, awareness and adoption of tools and processes
- Partner with other Knowledge Management teams at Dropbox to promote consistency and represent Research and Insights
- Partner with other Research Operations Program Managers to optimize processes, frameworks and the operations ecosystem
- Develop and implement a strategy for “insights on insights” by independently researching, reporting and driving recommendations based on past research
- 5 years in a knowledge or information management role, or 5 years in a research role with library, information management or information technology role. Demonstrated success with building and managing Research libraries, organizing complex and diverse research outputs
- Ability to implement new tools, work with external vendors, build RFPs or internal software build plans. Demonstrated success designing, implementing and track the impact of net new programs with significant software components
- Demonstrated successÂ
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to set achievable, measurable goals with impactful outcomes
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and priorities, making sure inter-dependencies are understood and planned for effectively
- Ability to gain compliance and buy-in for new and existing processes by building trust with Partners
- Ability to foster a community of practice around insights and a culture of sharing
- Demonstrable success working autonomously in an environment of ambiguity with diverse Partners
- Passion for Research and Researchers and advocate for customers, both external and internal
Nice to have
- Background in Library Sciences, either through formal education or professional experience
- Experience with managing Research communications and developing communications strategies to promote insights adoption at a company level
Total Rewards
For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $131,200 - $154,400 - $177,600.
This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
