Senior UX Researcher

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motived UX Researcher to join our team. As the first Researcher to join, you will help build the Resy UX Research function from scratch and put processes in place to help the Product and Design teams better understand our users’ needs, motivations, and pain-points. Your work will directly influence our roadmap and drive the future of our product.
Your role will be conducting all types of research, working with cross-functional teams, and performing usability studies. Your responsibilities will also include inspiring change, delivering oral and written presentations, evaluating qualitative and quantitative data, and helping the Product Designers understand what would make a user’s experience more intuitive, accessible, and seamless.

You will be reporting to the Head of Product Design.
This posting is for our New York, NY office. Residence in the greater New York City area is required, though the position will start as flex hybrid (in person a couple of days a week).

WHO YOU ARE:

• You have at least 5 years of experience leading UX Research

• You have a deep understanding of Research methodologies and can identify which approach will best serve each initiative.

• You can conduct and evaluate quantitative and qualitative research

• You can conduct market and ethnographic research

• You can formulate specific, answerable, and practical questions that will ensure we get answers to the questions we have, and insights we didn’t know we were missing.

• You can synthesize findings in a meaningful way that communicates our learning across all teams

• You collaborate effectively with Product and Design and guide us through your research process

• You have experience in creating Personas

• You have experience with remote testing tools

• You have a strong desire for creative problem-solving with a positive attitude

• You have excellent time-management skills

• You are self-motivated and share responsibility for the team’s success and progress

• You are ready to mentor and coach junior UX researchers

• You are opinionated but low ego — you push yourself and your team for the best possible outcome and accept feedback and constructive criticism with humility.

• You share our love of restaurants and want to help us spread that passion
