Job Title: UX Writer

Job Summary
Planful is seeking a highly skilled UX Writer to collaborate with the head of user experience, designers, product managers, and writers to create compelling and intuitive user experiences across our financial planning and performance management software. Your role will involve crafting clear, concise, and engaging copy that enhances user comprehension and supports our customers in achieving their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
• UX Writing: Create and review user interface copy, ensuring it aligns with product guidelines and provides a seamless, intuitive experience. Focus on improving financial planning workflows and decision-making processes through well-crafted copy.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of User Experience, UX Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Writers to understand user needs, product requirements, and design objectives. Contribute to shaping the overall UX vision and strategy.
• Product Communication: Compose various forms of communication, including system notices, emails, tooltips, and other UI text elements, to enhance user engagement and comprehension in the context of financial performance.
• Copy Maintenance: Utilize tools such as Figma, Jira, and Pendo to create, update, and maintain product copy, ensuring consistency across the platform.
• User Assistance & Onboarding: Develop user assistance plans, including notifications, guided tours, and surveys, particularly tailored to complex financial workflows. Leverage Pendo for effective user onboarding and support.
• UX Best Practices: Contribute to the development and evolution of UX writing standards, processes, and best practices, particularly within the financial planning software domain.
• Revamp Existing UX Content: Take initiatives to revamp existing user interface content, particularly focusing on improving the user experience within complex financial modules.
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Writing, Technical Communication, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: 4+ years of experience creating UX copy for SaaS applications, ideally within finance or AI-based software applications. Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis software is highly desirable.
Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Doc Suite.
• Have a strong grasp of both US English and British English and be able to adjust writing for the appropriate audience or context.
• Strong ability to manage stakeholders with competing priorities.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, particularly in financial or technical environments.
• Capable of working independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to skilfully receive and implement feedback
