Senior VDI Engineer

About the role:
The Infrastructure organization is looking for a Senior VDI Engineer to join our team as we build, migrate, and run our VDI environment in AVS. In this role you will understand where we are, where we are going, and help build and support the VDI solution appropriate for the DBRS Business unit. You will also use your VDI and on-premise experience to provide direction and support for the VDI product.
Job responsibilities:

• Support, troubleshoot and administer the DBRS AVS Environment.
• Participate in the planning and development of projects to deliver a Virtual desktop infrastructure to Morningstar DBRS employee base.
• Identify the sequencing, prioritization, and technical steps required for a large-scale VDI migration into AVS.
• Stay current on trends and best practices in Azure, AVS and VMWare.
• Managing and maintaining the operational integrity of our VMware systems as required.
• Provide knowledge transfer to engineers and training to users as required as part of deployment.
• Act as second- and third-line support for escalations and issues in North America.
• Respond to incidents and alerts as requested.
• Work with Vendors to understand to troubleshoot issues and find fixes to bugs identified.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of VMWare vsphere, ESXi experience.
• At least 3 years of Experience with VMware Horizon.
• 1 Years' Experience working with AVS (Azure VMware Solution).
• At least 1 years' experience with NSX-T.
• Experience with AppVol and DEM.
• Experience of security standards, best practices, and principles.
• Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle and lead multiple tasks.
• Strong time management skills - the ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
