What You’ll Do

As SVP, People you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the culture of the Authentic team. You will lead and manage the global People team, inclusive of Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and People Business Partners. You’ll be able to lead the charge and impact strategy during a time of significant growth. Authentic has big plans for 2023 and beyond, including additional acquisitions and becoming a public company!

Given the nature of the SVP, People role, this position requires the successful candidate to work from the Authentic office headquartered in New York City.

 

What you’ll be working on

As Authentic’s senior HR leader, the SVP, People shall work across teams to build a diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture. Areas of responsibility include:


Leadership and Management

  • In conjunction with the Executive Team, guides the organization's human resource philosophy and practices. You will work closely with our leadership teams from our CEO and C-suite to Directors across the entire business
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive and cost-effective HR practices and policies, including compensation, benefits, performance management and review processes.
  • Provides guidance to the Executive Team; assists with any resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits issues that may arise.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Team on all aspects of HR to achieve organizational goals; identifies ways to support strategy and advance mission..

 Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Interfaces with employees individually and collectively across the organization
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to develop and implement strong organizational culture
  • Provides confidential and expert support to colleagues on a range of professional, workplace, team and personal matters central to employee benefits, performance and engagement.
  • Interacts with employees, supervisors of employees, Executive Team and others to identify and resolve any workplace issues, address questions about benefits, measure employee satisfaction and morale, and provide support and input to performance management and salary levels based on market values.
  • Stays abreast of best HR practices and trends within the HR industry in general.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

  • Leads internal DEI efforts for the organization to build a diverse, inclusive and supportive culture in line with Authentic’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Contributes Authentic’s strategic planning and organizational efforts to institutionalize, maintain, and expand internal DEI work; supports related HR and Executive Team decision-making.
  • Manages any special initiatives related to DEI within the organization.

 

 Legal and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations and changes in employment law, human resources, and talent management, with a particular focus on the non-profit industry.
  • Collaboration with Finance Team
  • Leads benefits audits, annual benefits negotiations, and open enrollment planning and implementation in close collaboration with the Finance Team.
  • Partners with the Finance Team to ensure the smooth operation of the organization and accounting systems, including with respect to benefits management; employee onboarding, leave, and offboarding.

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of human resource management experience, including strategic talent management and extensive knowledge of HR practices and policies with emphasis on employee relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Acute attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent self-direction and the ability to take ownership and drive responsibilities through to completion as well as ability to work as a member of various collaborative teams and committees.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, including short- and long-range planning.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of human resource management experience, including strategic talent management and extensive knowledge of HR practices and policies with emphasis in employee relations.
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion best practices
  • Ability to work well and contribute effectively under pressure, and in response to rapidly changing needs
  • Bachelor's degree and/ or work experience commensurate in relevant field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and genuine interest in, Authentic’s core values and mission.

Primary Location Salary Range:

$250,000 - $300,000 base
