Senior Virtualization Engineer

1901 Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Virtualization Engineer to provide Virtualization support for our Enterprise IT Operations Center. Primary Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and sustain multiple versions of running on multiple hyperconverged and converged infrastructures, in multiple customer environments.
• Implement, monitor, and sustain multiple virtualization implementations across broad and dispersed enterprises 
• Troubleshoot all escalated Virtualization issues ranging from hardware to operating. systems/applications/permissions/user profile related issues.
• Demonstrate excellent networking and technical skills, proficiency with the design, implementation and support of virtualization solutions, integration of enterprise server, storage, network, and components, and exhibit strong project management and communication.
• Implement, install, and recommend technologies including systems management, server virtualization, network storage and security.
• Evaluate and architect network, server, and storage architecture plans.
• Technical writing for both system integration and transition to operations teams for sustainment.
• Work in hybrid multi-location operations team administering existing production network.
• Follow, maintain, and produce in-house documentation for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution.
• Assist in creating automation and process improvements toward greater efficiency, reduced incidents, and proactive systems management.
• Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life-cycle.
• Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data.
• Document status updates and communicate to necessary parties.
• Document troubleshooting steps and knowledge articles for Shared Desk and Help Desk teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years experience or an Associate degree and 10 years, or we will accept additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Heavily experienced with Nutanix AOS and AHV 
• Experienced with VMware versions 6.x and above.
• Experienced with PowerShell or Python and other automation tools
• Familiar with ticketing systems and the value of good documentation
• A US Citizen who can obtain a DoD Secret clearance
• A baseline 8570 certification [(IAT Level II)] CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP]
• Must be within a commutable distance of Ft. Meade.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in IT Related Field
• US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance
• Nutanix platform design experience
• VCP-DCV – VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization
• Experience with Citrix CVAD
• Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and Azure
• AWS – Solutions Architect Associate

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
