Senior Visual Designer, Design Systems at Blue Yonder

Overview

As a Senior Visual Designer, you will focus on the visual design aspects of Blue Yonder's design system, working with the team to translate product requirements into cohesive visual patterns and components. You will help create and maintain design guidelines that enable teams to build consistent, scalable, and visually compelling experiences across our product suite. Your visual design expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our product development process.

All candidates must provide a portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and experience working with design systems. Examples should showcase systematic thinking, component design, and visual design excellence across web and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Design Systems Lead to implement the visual design direction of Blue Yonder's design system

- Create visual design specifications for typography, color systems, iconography, and spacing

- Design reusable components that scale across platforms and products

- Support the implementation of visual design standards across teams

- Work with cross-functional teams to understand product needs and create appropriate visual design solutions

- Maintain and update component libraries in Figma

- Collaborate with engineering teams on the implementation of design system components

- Support design system audits to ensure visual consistency

- Document visual design decisions and guidelines

- Create visual assets and examples for the design system

- Contribute to the evolution of our visual design language

Qualifications

- 6+ years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design

- Strong understanding of visual design principles including typography, color theory, and layout

- Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and systems thinking (must provide a viewable link or access instructions)

- Experience designing for mobile applications for iOS and Android

- Experience as a feature or product designer working with design systems

- Expert knowledge of Figma

- Experience creating and maintaining component libraries

- Understanding of web accessibility standards from a visual design perspective

- Knowledge of responsive design principles

- Bachelor's degree in Visual Design, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent experience

- Background in creating and documenting design guidelines
Beneficial Skills

- Understanding of HTML/CSS

- Basic understanding of JS/React/Mobile dev restrictions 

- Design Systems experience
