Senior Wireless Architect | Houston & Denver

JOB SUMMARY:

Zivaro is looking for a Sr. Wireless Architect to lead the design and implementation of complex wireless network architectures, managing and maintaining enterprise-level wireless network infrastructure, including WiFi Design, Troubleshooting & Validation, Monitoring, Support & Response. This will be a customer facing team lead role, responsible for working with senior leadership teams as well as training Jr. & Mid-level Engineers.

This position can be based in either Denver, CO or Houston, TX - 40% travel between TX & CO is required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and train Jr & Mid level engineers on WiFi responsibilities:
  • How to Monitor, Troubleshoot, Configure, Optimize, modify monitoring and alarms
• Provide predictive Heatmap & Site Survey; communicate results to senior leadership teams
• Perform Inventory of larger offices
• Plan and add WAPs to provide best coverage
• Perform Active Heatmap
• Optimize network performance
• Customer Facing: Engage directly with wireless users, Troubleshoot and resolve all related issue, WiFi, DHCP, Auth, Routing, Firewall Rules, Client VPN
• Ownership: Discover and define problem areas, Design and implement solutions, Support and troubleshoot issues, Train up others to support solution
• WiFi Trouble Shooting and Validation: Provide WiFi performance Heatmap and site survey, validate coverage and predicted; Validate performance per design, Validate Coverage as predicted, Resolve any gaps, Validate channels per design, Resolve interference issues, Optimize for high reliability, throughout and voice & video quality; Disconnects, Drops, Slowness/Throughput, Roaming issues, Voice, Video, Presentation Quality
• WiFi Monitoring, Support and Response: Setup monitoring to capture critical performance indicators, Setup dashboards in monitoring tools, Mist Portal, Dynatrace, Setup alerts to notify of issues, Respond and resolve issues discovered in monitoring tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience
• Experience with Juniper MIST AP's, AP63, AP45's
• Experience with Cisco and PAN as R/S and FW
• WiFi, DHCP, Auth, Routing, Firewall Rules, Client VPN
• WiFi Related Skills: WiFi Design - Provide Predictive Heatmap & Site Survey, High-Density 5GHz Design - none-or-limited 2.4GHz, Prevent Co-Channel Interference, Provide high-reliability network, Support best practices for connection, roaming and authentication for various clients: Dell, iPhone Mac, Android
• WiFi Technology and Features; Mist WiFi expertise, Authentication against central AD servers, Mist Guest Portal setup
• WiFi Monitoring, Support and Response; Setup monitoring to capture critical performance indicators, Setup dashboards in monitoring tools, Mist Portsl, Dynatrace, Setup alerts to notify of issues, Respond and resolve issues discovered in monitoring tools

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred but not required

U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions at Zivaro due to security clearance requirements for government/federal contracts held by Zivaro.
