Position Summary:

Trupanion, North America’s fastest-growing pet insurance provider, is looking for a Senior Workday System Administrator. This role is responsible for technical oversight of Workday, including Workday Human Capital Management, Payroll, Financial Management, Adaptive, and Performance. Specifically responsible for supporting the Workday Operations & Strategy, and the cross-functional leads by serving as a technical resource for the Workday platform; providing oversight for Workday tenant management, security administration, system upgrades, and establishing well-controlled environments by defining, documenting, and implementing system standards; collaborating with the technical leads from the various Workday Application Areas (i.e., HCM, Finance, and Payroll) regarding overall structure, architecture, and protocols; and partnering with the Workday operating team to develop solutions, ensure data consistency, data integrity, and enterprise alignment.

If you live in the greater Seattle area, you will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week, and the remainder you can choose to work remotely if you’d like.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with Finance & People Operations (Human Resources) to support the technical aspects of Workday projects.
  • Maintain Workday security design, configuration, workflow, and security administration.
  • Coordinate and lead Workday mandatory upgrades; design and implement overall testing strategy.
  • Perform daily system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Assist with testing new business processes, system modifications, and updates.
  • Contribute and maintain operational, configuration, and other operating protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper security to protect confidential information.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce recurring work where practical (and/or improve performance, reduce risk, etc.).
  • Monitor and track progress on Workday support tickets and collaborate and support functional leads with escalated issues.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable on the Workday roadmap and upcoming product releases, reviewing release notes, assessing new features, and understanding the impacts on business processes and basic changes in functionality. Maintain a complete understanding of the system in order to act as a liaison between IT and functional areas.
  • Lead system integrations within the architecture of the HR/Finance system and middleware.
  • Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations, and well as new integrations.
  • Perform routine break/fix support and regression testing and support the inbound/outbound interfaces to the system and middleware.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution.
  • Consult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenance; collaborate with other architects and technical leads on design decisions.
  • Design and develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests.
  • Understand and follow Data Governance and ensure attention to data quality.

Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a systems or business analyst.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Workday HCM, Payroll and Financial Management, business processes and security, and report writer tools.
  • Must have knowledge of Workday integrations (e.g., Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, PICOFs, Web Services & REST APIs).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot the deep details of an issue and resolve problems from end-to-end.
  • Must have been involved in at least 1 Workday implementation or equivalent Workday experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Prefer previous experience in an information technology environment.
  • Familiarity with basic elements of Agile Scrum methodology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Adaptive is a plus.

Compensation: 

  • The base pay for this position is $150,000 - $165,000 depending on experience. Along with base pay, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and corporate achievement.
  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
