31st Union is the newest studio in the Take-Two Interactive family, founded in 2019 in the San Francisco Bay Area, and later expanding to include a studio in Valencia, Spain. We are well into our first effort of building a multiplayer / multiplatform AAA action game and we are looking for a Senior World Builder to help us accomplish that goal.

Who You Are:
You’re an experienced World Builder with 2-3 shipped titles under your belt. You’re comfortable building map content off an established template, but you’re also willing to push boundaries and explore. You have experience with both natural and curated environments as well as the areas where those two intersect. You are somewhat a hybrid between traditional level design and traditional environment art. Our ideal candidate has proven experience building world spaces across all phases of development and is excited to come in and help close out our first title as we get closer to launch and beyond.

Required Experience:
- Experience with Maya or 3D modeling equivalent
- General understanding of game design, current design paradigms, and fundamentals of gameplay
- Understanding of how to balance design, art, and narrative to create epic and eye-catching spaces
- Understanding of how to tailor architectural concepts to game design needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to self-direct and autonomously deliver on goals
- Ability to iterate & collaborate under deadlines & production constraÂints
- Ability to shift focus from a large macro POV down to player scale details
- Comfort working with natural spaces: terrain, foliage, rocks, etc.

Bonus Experience:
- Experience with UE5 and/or World Partition
- Strong passion for online multiplayer action games; previous experience working in multi-player, open-world, 3rd person, and/or shooters
- A passion for diversity & representation in games & game development
- Background in art / architecture / CS / etc. a plus
- Having owned both the level design and environment on a section of a released game

Responsibilities:
- Daily hands-on engine work to bring ideas to life.
- Design, pitch, & hone world spaces levels from inception to completion to post-launch. Examine desired player experience goals and introduce designs that help support and enhance that experience.
- Be an equal voice within the design team for making both large- and small-scale decisions throughout the project.
- Collaborate deeply with other disciplines. This role will touch on everything from animation to UI to environment art to sound, as well as work closely with core engineering teams.
- Own map ideas from inception to completion. This includes pitching ideas in their infancy to fine-tuning post-launch. We emphasize a culture of trust, and with that trust comes both responsibility & accountability.
- Understand how world design fits into the overall creation direction of the game, both on a macro and micro level.
- Help establish guidelines and metrics that will inform art
