About The Position

The Senior/Lead Strategist will support developing, measuring and executing the strategy aligned to specific teams/areas. This specific role will primarily support the Digital Field & Grid organization and may also support other technology domains. The focus for this role will be supporting the continued evolution of the Integrated Grid and Field technology strategies. The role will support the Manager, Strategy and Digital senior leadership to support both strategy development and strategic planning, including defining strategic initiatives and updating long-term strategies and operational plans. In addition, the role will support measurement of the strategy through the scorecard and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the design & development of strategies for initiatives, workstreams, and/or teams that tie to Ameren strategic initiatives and objectives through understanding of key priorities and best practices in the energy and utility industry and at other leading companies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership, working directly with leadership to build, execute, measure, adapt and learn the strategy and investments needed to support the key priorities
• Assist with annual refreshes of the one year and long-term (five year) strategic planning process
• Assist in designing, developing, tracking, and communicating robust value-driven metrics that measure success and progress of the strategy and strategic objectives
• Lead the development of presentations to communicate the strategy and execution progress to various stakeholders by translating efforts into meaningful business outcomes
• Work closely with overall Strategy, Capital Planning, Program, Portfolio & Project Management Office, and Analytics teams to plan and analyze strategic investment costs and value, supporting value tracking/realization

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited University is required and five or more years of professional experience in general business, strategic planning, energy delivery operations, business development etc; or advanced degree with three or more years of professional experience. Lead role requires seven or more years of professional experience or advanced degree with five or more years of professional experience. Experience leading cross functional teams without direct line reporting relationships preferred. Experience with strategy, business plans and/or scorecards preferred. Preferred experience in utilities, energy delivery and transmission, or grid operations.
