Sensory and Consumer Associate Scientist

Job Purpose and Impact
The Sensory and Consumer Associate Scientist, will collaborate with other sensory and consumer scientists to prepare and perform consumer and difference sensory panels. In this role, you will ensure that activities related to the panel are proceeding as planned and will ensure that the sensory lab is maintained and that all activities for the panel and internal team evaluations are planned and executed in a timely manner.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and set up all materials needed for panels, including sample preparation, sensory laboratory set up, preparing sensory booths and recruiting participants.
- Ensure that product tastings are being completed as directed by the sensory scientists and according to sensory best practices.
- Organize and arrange the sample preparation for each tasting session and assist and provide information to the panel members during the session.
- Support the team and provide documentation of sensory best practices related to laboratory and panel management and provide basic data preparation and topline results to simplify data analysis by the sensory scientists.
- Handle routine operations for the sensory laboratory and keep track of materials and resources and their availability including maintaining the employee panel database
- Arrange for the sending and receiving of the sample for panel trials.
- Use EyeQuestion software to create sensory panelists screeners and questionnaires in order to collect sensory data.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of sensory and consumer science, consumer psychology or equivalent experience,
- Knowledge in food safety or laboratory good practices
