Job Description
ABOUT GUIDEBOOK:
Guidebook is a simple yet powerful mobile application builder that lets you create an app in four easy steps with no technical skills required.
Thousands of organizations use Guidebook to create mobile applications for their conference, corporate meeting, university campus, or other custom event—but it doesn’t stop there. Our mission is to connect people with the places in which they spend their time. Forward-thinking professionals are using Guidebook’s simple app builder to make interactive mobile guides for their student orientations, college campus tours, venues and corporate campuses, airports, and any other place where there’s a lot going on.
Here at Guidebook we know the future is mobile—come join us on the challenge!
ABOUT THE JOB:
We are building a world-class Marketing team at Guidebook and would be excited to have you join us. We value effort, expertise, and a relentless focus on quality. Individuals who would fit in on our Marketing team are those who are highly curious and persistent, who favor the growth Marketing approach of ideation, testing and learning, and who are hungry to continuously grow and develop in their careers.
We partner closely with Product, Sales, and other teams to raise the bar and deliver the right message, to the right person, at the right time. We seek to elevate our marketing content to focus on the big problems we are solving for customers, not just features and benefits.
You will be helping us revolutionize our Marketing approach to increase our brand awareness, grow and nurture inbound leads, empower our customers to tell their story, position our best-in-class product, and drive significant growth for the company.
You will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content that will rank well in search engines and will be tasked with writing blog posts, web page copy, sales and marketing literature, and other digital media. You have an understanding of SEO best practices and techniques and know how to write content that is both readable and relevant to the user — and also optimized for search engines.
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL:
Get up to speed on our product offerings and sales verticals (enterprise, corporate/SMB, and higher education) and partner with the rest of the marketing team to achieve quarter objectives
Partner with our Marketing Designer to create graphics for content needs, specifically pitch decks and sales/marketing collateral.
Regularly produce original work that will engage and convert target customers, and improve shared content across social media channels. Content will include white papers, blog posts, website copy, eBooks, case studies, webinars, pitch decks, and other content as needed.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU WILL:
Create compelling, well-researched content across multiple platforms that effectively communicates Guidebook’s brand, value proposition, and position as the easiest tool to use to create and manage mobile apps.
Influence content strategy by working with marketing, sales, and product teams to identify and fulfill content needs for all phases of the campaign lifecycle, buyer’s journey, and brainstorming sessions.
Develop and maintain editorial calendars and content project plans; provide regular updates to stakeholders, and determine metrics for ensuring effectiveness of marketing content.
Work closely with our team to ensure the timely and strategic delivery of messages via email, content, social media, and events.
Help establish content-related KPIs, track performance/success, measure, analyze and adjust campaigns in-flight based on performance. Assess campaign effectiveness by product, medium, source, offer type, and target audience.
WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:
Be responsible for your own campaigns as the primary owner (or co-own campaigns with other Marketing team members)
Work against established KPIs and track their performance/success. Measure and report on the effectiveness of all content marketing efforts, factoring in any key findings to continually fine-tune the editorial calendar and identify fresh, engaging tactics.
Manage marketing tools on your own and influence the types of tools we use
Lead research to drive thought leadership that fuels white papers, webinars, press, awareness, and reputation of Guidebook as a thought and app leader.
Track community engagement on all channels and monitor top industry blogs and media outlets to stay on top of industry trends.
OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to challenge people’s perspectives and create a compelling story for customers to rally around - great research skills and the ability to pick things up quickly are key!
Resilience and grit - you’re prepared to go the extra mile when necessary (though Guidebook strongly promotes a healthy work/life balance!).
You are a team player. Everyone needs to pull for each other, challenge each other, share best practices, help each other grow, and take on team projects to make the entire Guidebook Marketing team better.
Experience with Wordpress, Google Suite, Salesforce, Jira, HootSuite, Canva, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Marketo or comparable tools
Strong experience with Ahrefs (or Moz, Semrush)
Experience building content clusters (hub and spoke model)
Experience with creating a content strategy that aligns with marketing, sales, and product goals
Experience with SEO is desired, from implementation of on-page SEO best practices to creating content around highly-trafficked SEO terms
Experience with A/B testing and helping construct marketing campaigns
Bonus points if you have worked on a remote marketing team before!
