SEO Lead Editor

This role sits at the intersection of editorial excellence, SEO strategy, and AI-assisted content creation within a fast-scaling digital publishing environment focused on gaming audiences. You will take ownership of content quality across a high-traffic gaming hub, ensuring all articles meet the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, tone, and search performance. The position combines hands-on editing with strategic leadership, guiding both human editors and AI-generated content toward consistent excellence. You will play a key role in shaping editorial guidelines, improving workflows, and ensuring content aligns with SEO and UX best practices. In a fast-paced, experimentation-driven environment, you will continuously refine processes to enhance content quality and discoverability. The role also involves mentoring senior editors and helping build future editorial leaders within the team.

• Define, implement, and continuously improve editorial guidelines across all content verticals to ensure consistency, clarity, and high-quality output.
• Lead quality control processes within the editorial team by reviewing content, tracking performance issues, and documenting recurring editorial challenges.
• Develop and enforce guidelines for AI-generated content, ensuring both human and AI outputs meet strict editorial, SEO, and UX standards.
• Mentor and support senior editors through structured feedback, task delegation, and career development planning to prepare them for leadership roles.
• Review, approve, and refine content structure, tone, design, and style to maximize engagement, conversion, and search performance.
• Oversee content optimization for SEO and Google Search, ensuring all headlines and articles align with organic visibility best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of editorial workflows using tools such as Google Docs and performance tracking systems.
• Lead initiatives for content innovation, including Google News strategies to strengthen traffic acquisition and revenue generation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an editorial role with demonstrated responsibility for content quality and publishing standards.
• Experience leading or managing editorial teams, with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop writers or editors.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to editorial content and digital publishing.
• Experience working with or overseeing AI-assisted content creation workflows and editorial QA processes.
• Exceptional English writing, editing, and proofreading skills across both long-form and short-form content.
• Outstanding attention to detail with a strong ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and content gaps.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple editorial priorities simultaneously.
• Preferred: portfolio of editorial work demonstrating content leadership and quality standards.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI tools or enterprise-level writing platforms (e.g., Claude or similar systems).
