Remote Type
Optional Work from Home
The SEO Specialist drives the bus when it comes to organic strategy. Working closely with a designer, a content writer, and a product marketing manager, you'll lead the charge in our quest to own organic rankings. You're also a supporting player in content marketing, design, partnerships, and other marketing activities.
About Veracity
A lot of things have changed in the last century-phones, film, fashion, even football-but insurance? Not so much. Standard practice for buying liability insurance for your business is basically the same as it was a century ago: you go to your local agent who glues together different coverages to create the right policy; he/she then finds one or more brokers to put your policy together piecemeal before giving you a quote. It takes weeks, sometimes months. Sound like a headache? It is. That's where we come in.
Veracity is disrupting the age-old structure of insurance by creating one-stop-shop eCommerce stores so business owners get an affordable insurance policy quickly, easily, and completely online.
Basically, insurance just became cool (and a lot more fun to market). Think insurance is boring? So did we! Ignorant about insurance? So were we! But insurance is far more fascinating than we thought and you know search engine optimization. We'll teach you everything else.
A Day in the Life of the SEO Specialist
If you prefer a Groundhog Day job, respawning the same level/tasks each day, this may not work out between us. Each day is a little different for the SEO Specialist, it's never boring, and it'll require agility to respond to the evolving world of SEO (thanks, Google!).
One thing is certain: as the SEO expert, you'll be waist-deep in all things organic search, and a "typical" day might include link building, keyword research, website audits, link building, helping to develop content, page layout/design reviews, link building, competitor analysis, consulting on site speed & technical best practices, reporting, and did we mention link building?
You'll also have one brief daily collaboration meeting with your team to strategize, report on current campaigns, and assess the outcomes of completed campaigns and other meetings or discussions as needed.
What You Need to Succeed
We're growing ~20-30% annually. Our growth starts with great products, great leadership, and a great team. Much of that growth is also because of our organic search efforts. We believe in it, and we believe there's more growth available. That's where you and your skills come in.
You obviously know the h*ck out of search engine optimization. If you eat, drink, and sleep organic search, bring what you know about successful SEO campaigns, and infuse that knowledge into our products, you'll be successful.
Since you're a search engine marketer, your project management muscles are awesome, so flex 'em. Your flair for data analysis and using numbers as a success guide are also key. Speaking of numbers, tracking KPIs and analyzing outcomes to say what worked and what didn't will come in handy. We expect failures on the way to success, so learning and adapting is a great trait.
You're good at taking into account past outcomes, future forecasts, market research, building business cases, project plans, and SMART goals that improve organic rankings.
Above all, you're humble, hungry, smart, and proactive. And if you're that, you're one of us.
Benefits
So, what's in it for you? Veracity offers 160 hours of PTO (sick or vacation) plus 2 floating holidays per year, 401(k) with a company match plan, health/dental/vision plans, and more. We do regular team activities, lunches, and genuinely enjoy time with each other.
Of course, nothing compares to being part of explosive growth, impacting that growth personally, and working with some truly remarkable people. See what they say about working at Veracity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFeOlVg3YLg
Work Schedule
No surprises here, the expectation is a 40-hour workweek. Since you have a life outside of work, there's flexibility when it comes to in-and-out times. You'll work with your manager on a schedule that fits your lifestyle and the team. This position can be remote, in-office, or blended (remote and in-office). You'll also work that out with your manager. Just know we're flexible.
How to Apply
Submit your application through our website or the job board you found this posting on. An initial one-on-one interview will be conducted over the phone followed by either in-person or video interviews with the rest of the hiring team, and a final decision after that. Since this position can be remote, a relocation allowance isn't currently available.
