Job Description

Cortica is looking for a Service Designer to join our growing multi-disciplinary Product Team. 

In this role, you will work collaboratively with Product Team members and others across the company on projects to improve systems, products and processes, in service to both the business and customers.  

At this level, you will be expected to have some practical, real-world experience and the ability to work independently, but will get regular guidance, support and training from the Lead Service Designer and Senior Product Manager as you become familiar with Cortica’s business, the healthcare industry and in confidently developing your skills.  

 

What will you do? 

  • learn how Cortica’s business areas work, considering people, organization, processes, policies, information, data and technology products 
  • work on enhancements to Cortica’s software products and business processes, explore feasible options, analyze the effects of change and define success measures 
  • understand user and business needs to develop requirements that guide design solutions that enable business change 
  • with assistance, use quantitative and qualitative data to synthesize research into usable recommendations that inform design solutions 
  • frame and tell the story of design solutions and present the communication of research findings, requirements, conceptual ideas, high-level design, and design rationale both verbally and visually 
  • create deliverables to express design solutions to the team and our partners, such as service blueprints, journey maps, ecosystem maps, personas, storyboards, process flows, functional requirements and basic wireframes 
  • hand-off design solutions to UX designers and engineering teams, assisting during downstream efforts as required 

 

What’s required? 

Agile working. You can demonstrate experience working in Agile and an awareness of Agile tools and how to use them. 

Systems thinking You can support structured approaches to identify, investigate, analyze and communicate business problems and opportunities in both holistic and discrete ways.  

Communicating between the technical and non-technical. You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and with assistance, interpret them into design solutions. You can learn to effectively manage stakeholder expectations.  

Digital perspective. You can demonstrate responsiveness to changes in technology, adapting your approach accordingly, especially in the context of Cortica’s business.  

Evidence- and context-based design. You can absorb information and use it to produce simple diagrams, maps, presentations and wireframes. 

Ideation, Concepting & Prototyping Based on your understanding of the big picture, and with help from the Product Team leads, you can help identify the right problems to solve and offer potentials solutions to experiment with. You know some prototyping methods and when to use them. 

User focus. You can champion the user perspective and the need for user research. You can define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so.  

Working within constraints. You can identify, communicate and work within constraints. You can challenge the validity of constraints. You can ensure standards are being met.

The base pay range for this opening is $70,000 to $77,000. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
