Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares detailed historic/projected service line volume, utilization, throughput, business, and operational analyses of hospital-based inpatient/outpatient, ambulatory, and/or clinic-based services and capabilities including technology, equipment, clinician, and facility efficiency, validation, profitability, and growth analyses to develop necessary and supporting recommendations.
  • Prepares and monitors service line projections and market trends that effectively support best business practices.
  • Creates comparative matrices based on the determination of developed analyses. Assists in the development of product and service evaluations.
  • Utilizes systems and department software to develop, and maintain reporting tools to support service line decisions, which include but are not limited to reports on utilization, growth, and performance. Prepares related reports, graphs, charts, presentations and other documents to support the analytical findings.
  • Effectively communicate with the service line implementation team, service line leadership, others throughout the system and externally to gather necessary information for conducting analysis, assessing market related conditions, and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Conducts special business related studies as needed and cooperates with other departments in the preparation of analyses.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification Required: None Required

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

Experience Required: Typically requires 1 year of experience in statistical analysis, forecasting, modeling, general financial, large data sets, strategy, and/or health system service line reporting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of service line's functionality and processes. Previous health system experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business analysis and reporting.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products. Experience with large scale data sets is required.
  • Expertise in preparing, importing and manipulating information in spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to orchestrate several functions and/or resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Can manage multiple projects in parallel and meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with service line leadership, physicians, and other health care team members.
  • Ability to work effectively and responsibly in an independent manner.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to normal office environment areas but will primarily work remotely with expectations to travel for onsite meetings as needed.
  • Can work independently as well as collaboratively;
  • Uses a computer continuously throughout the workday.
  • Responsibilities may require to work outside of the normal workday to meet specific deadlines.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • The position may require travel so the incumbent will be exposed to road and weather hazards.
