Service Writer
Job Description
Raymond West is looking for an energetic Service Writer to join our winning team! The Raymond West Service Writer will review maintenance work orders and generate all quotes for the service department related to service recommendations made during routine maintenance as well as opportunities presented through core sales. Assist in scheduling repair jobs with customers and field techs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review all Scheduled Maintenance work orders, create quotes on recommended repairs that are needed.
- Provide alternative quotes when multiple repair options are available
- Present quotes to customers directly or to appropriate sales representative as needs dictate.
- Follow up with customers on repairs that are needed, track quotes submitted and approved.
- Coordinate approved repairs with customer, dispatch and Team Leader, communicate with customer throughout the scheduling process.
- Assist other departments in generating quoted jobs for the service department.
- Order parts that may be needed for repairs and coordinate with Team Lead on logistics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

- Familiarity with all types of equipment Raymond Handling Solutions, Inc. sells and services.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Willing to attend seminars and classes to update/improve various skills.
- Proficiency in understanding EBS program, or similar program (with respect to monitoring work orders of subordinates)
- Capable of making sound decisions.
- Clean, neat appearance.
- Able to utilize time efficiently.
- Capable of effective written communication
- Capable of communicating with people at all levels of management at Raymond Handling Solutions, Inc. as well as with customer management.
- Ability to deal with customers on a face-to-face basis.
- Maintain a sound working relationship with all technicians and fellow workers.
- Thorough knowledge of all equipment that RHSI services.
- Able to work in conjunction with other departments as needed.
- Willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.
- Must have the ability to communicate and interface closely with employees, customers, vendors, and management team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Superior communication skills; written and verbal.
- Motivated to continuous self-development and training.
- Willing to assume more responsibility as required.
- Willing to comply with the employee handbook.
- Computer Skills
- MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook with scheduling multiple appointments.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay Range:
- $23.00-$28.00
