What is the role about?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Consultant to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions that meet our business requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide expert guidance on best practices, and ensure the optimal performance of the ServiceNow platform. Key Responsibilities will include:
ServiceNow Implementation and Management:
- Lead the implementation and configuration of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, SecOps, and others as required.
- Oversee the development of custom applications and integrations within the ServiceNow platform.
Consultation and Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for ServiceNow projects.
- Provide expert advice on ServiceNow capabilities and best practices to maximize value and efficiency.
Solution Design and Development:
- Design and architect ServiceNow solutions that align with business goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.
Platform Optimization and Maintenance:
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Perform regular platform upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure stability and security.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and mentorship to junior consultants and end-users.
- Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance for ServiceNow-related issues.
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team daily.
As a VR consultant, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and client demands. Often your team will be a mix of on-site and remote based members who will connect using IM, video calls and an online ticketing system. Good communication skills and time management is essential for this role.
Must have Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with ServiceNow platform in a consulting role.
- Proven track record of successful ServiceNow implementations and upgrades.
- Extensive knowledge of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, SecOps, and others.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow development including scripting (JavaScript, Glide), UI policies, business rules, and workflow automation.
- Experience with integration tools and methodologies (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, etc.).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Certifications advantageous:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) ideal.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules preferred.
- ITIL v3/v4 certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in South Africa, Europe or the United Kingdom, so long as you are authorised to work in the country you reside in without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
