Job Description
Role: ServiceNow Lead/Architect
Duration: 4 Months
Location: Beaverton, OR (100% remote)
Key Skills: ServiceNow Architecture, ITSM, CMDB, Performance testing
Accountabilities For This Role:
- Planning, Design, Development And Support
- Leads the design & development of a technical solution in partnership with the Architect that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural & quality standards, & effectively integrates solutions delivered with adjacent & tertiary solutions/technologies.
- Independently identifies, defines, directs, and/or performs analysis to resolve complex, first- time issues in his or her area(s) of expertise.
- Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including coding, testing, debugging, and installing for a small- to mid-scale systems.
- Ensures the effective performance of assigned product(s) and their integration with adjacent solutions/technologies.
- Develops working knowledge of tertiary domains, incoming data, and other dependent systems/workflows.
- Maintains awareness of changes to other products/systems/workflows that may affect their products/systems/infrastructure, ensuring there is no degradation of service.
- Team/Project Role
- Manages small-to moderate-sized solutions, or plays a key role on larger teams, working within the parameters of 2-3 sprints.
- Provides direction and mentoring to team members and/or vendors.
- Provides leadership within the squad/work team, with accountability for ensuring that work is on track (e.g., driving backlog refinement), balances quality with speed, contains the required functionality with an effective user experience are delivered, and upstream/ downstream interdependencies are accounted for, making certain that solutions delivered integrate effectively with adjacent solutions/technologies.
- Provides guidance and development support to more junior team members.
- Works directly with the Architect to pull together solution options and recommendations.
- Identifies option for and guides customer into considering out of the box options; questioning the need for customization, quantifying any customized solutions utilizing value propositions.
- Serve as dev captain during sprint ceremonies and meets regularly with project team
- Provides code/peer reviews for internal and 3 rd party developers
- Oversight of and accountability for 3 rd party developer's quality of work.
- Knowledge Management
- Ensures knowledge sharing within the team (e.g., ensures documentation stays accurate and up to date).
- Presents and shares work with colleagues for mutual review and education (i.e. after action review, root cause analysis, lunch and learn, brown bags, demos).
- Provides transparency in the form of regular updates to peers and leadership.
- Business Understanding And Partnership
- Conducts root cause analysis of business problems, working with colleagues in the business to define the scope of the solution and desired outcomes.
- Within the scope of a work assignment, collaborates with the product owner, architect, and the customer, assisting with the management of stakeholder expectations and ensuring prompt and complete customer service.
- Builds a relationship with Enterprise Architect and ServiceNow Architecture
- Balance speed and quality in the solution delivery
