ABOUT THE ROLE: Settlement Operations Engineer 

 Location: Frisco, Texas 

We are seeking a talented and motivated Settlement Operations Engineer with an accounting background to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with approximately 3-5 years of relevant work experience. You will play a crucial role in leveraging your software engineering skills to build SQL reports, develop internal controls, optimize operational processes, reconcile funds flows, reconcile bank and other asset balances, management cash balances and oversee money movement and settlement operations. While the primary focus is on engineering, proficiency in accounting is essential to effectively reconcile financial data and ensure accuracy in our operations. 

The Settlement Operations Engineer will primarily support our LibertyX and LibertyPay business lines. LibertyX provides software that powers the largest nationwide network for consumers to buy and sell bitcoin via ATMs. LibertyPay is a cross-border money transmitter that makes remittances to Latin America faster and cheaper using blockchain technology. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:  

• Oversee all aspects of money movement and settlement operations for LibertyX and Liberty Pay, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Reconcile bank and exchange accounts utilizing processor reports, bank statements, blockchain explorers, and our internal transaction databases.

• Initiate and monitor transactions to facilitate timely settlements and optimize liquidity. 

• Develop and maintain SQL reports for querying transactional data.

• Design and implement automated alerts and internal controls to enhance financial governance.

• Utilize blockchain explorers to reconcile transactions and automate reporting processes.

• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams serving as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Streamline operational processes through data analysis and automation. 

• Other duties may be assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Computer Science or a related field.

• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.

• Ability to programmatically automate data management and reporting (e.g. SQL) preferred. 

• Strong software engineering skills with a focus on building internal controls and automation preferred. 

• Knowledge of blockchain technology and its applications in financial operations. 

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial operations. 

• Entry Level to five years of experience 

• A hard worker who thinks globally, loves to learn, and is passionate about replacing traditional payments technology with the Bitcoin blockchain.
