SEWING OPERATOR LEVEL 2
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Under limited supervision, will perform sewing functions to assemble product pieces. • Must be able to receive the product pieces and learn the order of pieces, draw threads through needles and adjust machine functions to meet the requirements of the sewing project and return product to workflow. • Ability to solve problems and work with a team to continuously improve production processes and achieve daily production goals. • Complete assigned sewing work with acceptable productivity and output rates as outlined below:
o Level 2: Must be able to assemble products using 2 to 3 different sewing machines or as many as needed to produce all products within the department, consistently achieve quality level of 97% and productions efficiency levels of 95% without refresher training; must be able to repair sewing work as needed to support daily production goals; able to share and demonstrate best practice sewing methods with other sewers.• Notify supervisors of any problems or discrepancies during the sewing process. • Perform daily maintenance on machines in area as assigned. • Follow instructions and complete other work as assigned. • Practice energy conservation in every area such as turning off machine when not in use. • Anything else deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
AUTHORITY: All personnel are responsible for quality and therefore have the authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct quality problems.
SKILLS REQUIRED • Able to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. • Able to comply with company safety, attendance and all other company policies. • Good communication skills both with peers and supervisors. • Sewing skills and the ability to cross-train on hemming, overlock, felling, single needle, binding and tacking processes. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with priorities that may change frequently • Some computer knowledge and able to utilize data collection systems which may include data entry into a tablet or computer. • Show knowledgeable use of sewing machine. (i.e., changing needle, changing thread as well as bobbins)
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE 1 to 3 months industrial sewing and/or training preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Must have 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20. • Be able to stand full shift. • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds. • Must be able to work in a moderate noise level. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. • Must be able to reach, stretch and bend. • Must be able to perceive colors and shades of colors.

-Monday thru Thursday 6:30 am - 4:00 pm, Friday 5:30 am - 9:30 am
2nd Shift:
-Monday thru Thursday 4:05 pm - 1:35 am, Friday 9:35 am - 1:35 pm
Overtime may/will be required
