Sewing Machine Operator

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: The person in this position must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time; performs light to moderate bending, twisting, kneeling and stooping. Position routinely requires that individual operate vehicles and walk medium distances to various buildings and different areas of the Medical Center when necessary. Repetitive motion of arms, wrist and hands.

Work is normally performed inside where there is ample light, heat and ventilation. The person in this position is intermittently exposed to excess humidity, chemicals and solvents, fumes, dust and noise and potentially wet, slippery floors. This position will be expected to work scheduled holidays and may be asked to work irregular hours and weekends as necessary in support of veteran care.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
