Technical Lead, SharePoint

Job Summary

Barings' Global Technology & Operations department is seeking a Technical Lead for SharePoint to join its Corporate Systems team. As a member of the team, the associate will be responsible for developing SharePoint Online sites, integrations and custom solutions, as well as administering SharePoint Online. The SharePoint Technical Lead will be responsible for all phases of the development lifecycle and will help manage the product backlog, feature prioritization process, and allocation of SharePoint developer resources.

The ideal candidate will understand the SharePoint platform as well as key integrations and capabilities available within the platform. The candidate will perform the necessary planning and tasks to design and develop solutions along with customizations for and maintenance of existing solutions. A successful candidate will be proficient in troubleshooting issues in a production environment and providing guidance to supporting team members. The SharePoint Technical Lead must be able to coordinate responsibilities across multiple SharePoint developers and exhibit strong communication skills. This position requires the candidate to work closely with SharePoint users across the firm and, in particular, key client stakeholders and technology leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Devise technical specifications and lead/execute the development of solutions in SharePoint
  • Implement and uphold SharePoint governance policies
  • Deliver value through projects of varying complexity to the end-user community, primarily using the Microsoft suite - SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, etc
  • Provide technical engineering services, training and consultancy to key stakeholders and the broader SharePoint user base
  • Ensure the services being fulfilled are in line with business expectations and delivers sustainable performance following transition to BAU
  • Partner with Product Owner and key stakeholders in planning SharePoint strategic and tactical roadmaps
  • Coach and develop junior SharePoint team members

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years of experience with SharePoint development and administration
  • 3 or more years of experience in technical analysis and design, preferably within a consulting environment or large enterprise
  • Experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of staff, management and C-level

Other Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of SharePoint platform capabilities and integration with Microsoft ecosystem
  • Extensive experience with:
  • PowerShell
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • SharePoint REST services
    • Strong analysis and design skills
    • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
    • Ability to devise creative but sustainable technical solutions
    • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems
    • MS Accreditation is a plus
    • Project Management or Agile certification a plus
