Shutdown Planner

Progesys is a company recognized for its expertise in managing industrial projects and their optimal transition from construction to operation. The company is based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Progesys is currently looking for Shutdown and Commissioning Planner to work in a mining project in Mongolia.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed shutdown schedules using project management tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Identify resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials, for all shutdown activities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define the scope of work and sequence of activities.
• Prepare contingency plans to address potential risks or delays.
• Liaise with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to align shutdown activities with operational needs.
• Communicate schedules and updates to all relevant departments and stakeholders.
• Facilitate shutdown planning meetings to ensure clarity on roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet the demands of the shutdown schedule.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with shutdown operations.
• Track progress of shutdown activities against the schedule and adjust as needed.
• Prepare and distribute daily progress reports during the shutdown period.
• Conduct post-shutdown analysis to identify lessons learned and improve future shutdown planning.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in shutdown planning, preferably in mining, metals, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven expertise in using planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project)

• Proven experience in commissioning and shutdown planning.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in resource allocation, task prioritization, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in mining or industrial environment
