Simulation Engineer

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Perform transmission Controller and Plant Modeling for Model In the Loop (MIL), Software In the Loop (SIL) and Hardware In the Loop (HIL).
• Plant Modeling will require multi-domain/multi-level subsystem and system dynamic analyses using MATLAB Simulink.
• Primary duties include supporting product design, development, product performance/fuel economy/durability improvement, electrification, design robustness and reducing reliance on physical testing.
• Perform powertrain integration and design optimization simulations (Model In the Loop, Software In the Loop, Hardware In the Loop MIL/SIL/HIL.
• Perform design trade-offs and optimization.
• The Simulation Engineer will be expected to work on diverse projects and independently determine and develop approaches and solutions. The individual will be required to provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to a fielded product.

Experience:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required
• Extensive experience in MATLAB/Simulink system modeling software required.
• Experience in transmission/powertrain/vehicle system modeling including electric and hybrid systems required.
• Experience with HIL and/or SIL simulation methods
• Programming experience in Microsoft Visual Studio C/C++
• Experience using Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) required.
• Excellence in written and spoken English required.

Preferred:

• MS Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in AMESim system modeling software.
