Primary Responsibilities

The Site Design Leader works with a diverse range of clients and team members to create vibrant places for the following market sectors and project types: civic, health, higher education, science and technology, public parks, streetscapes, and green infrastructure. The Site Design Leader manages a team of landscape architects and site designers to develop innovative, creative, and integrated design solutions at all phases of work, from pursuit to successful project implementation.

Responsibilities Include

As a leader within the Dallas Architecture studio, and within the greater network of HDR landscape architects nation-wide, the responsibilities for this position include:

• Leading a team of landscape architects and site planners with mentorship and inspiration.
• Evolving a collaborative and inclusive design process and culture that emphasizes design excellence and sustainable design.
• Supporting development of strong client relationships; serving as a key client relationship manager for business development and marketing efforts to win work.
• Collaborating with architects, engineers and other allied site disciplines on commercial and institutionally scaled planning and design projects.
• Leading site design projects, from concept development through construction documentation.
• Participating in relevant design / community activities that further our company's brand.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university
• Licensed landscape architect
• Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in site planning and design on a variety of project types and scales
• Strong conceptual designer and design thought leader
• Strong team leadership, mentoring, motivational, organizational and time management skills required
• Experience working in all design phases, including site analysis, site planning, grading and drainage, conceptual development, construction documentation and observation
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams on large, complex projects
• Energetic, creative, and forward-thinking
• Knowledgeable and experienced with local and regional markets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willing and available to travel for work
