Amplify Tutoring launched in response to heightened student needs driven by disruptions in schooling and unfinished learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. High-dosage tutoring has gained national momentum as a proven research-based support to close achievement gaps for students. This is an opportunity to join an innovative team helping schools, districts, and states to scale high-impact tutoring programs and meet student needs.
Amplify works in close partnership with districts and states on an array of tutoring initiatives, including: providing small group reading tutoring directly to district students through Amplify Tutors; providing tutoring materials, professional development, and program management for district-managed implementations; and providing high-impact tutoring consultancy services to support districts in designing their high-impact tutoring program.
Position Summary:
The Site Director, Tutoring - Chicago will play a critical role in ensuring a successful tutoring program is implemented across a network of schools within Chicago Public Schools. The responsibilities of the Site Director, Tutoring will be focused on collaborating with school leadership and the Amplify site director team in order to create a strategy to support a network of schools based on their needs. The Site Director, Tutoring Chicago will spend a large proportion of time visiting schools in order to support the tutoring implementation. School implementation support visits will be focused on supporting school leaders as well as conducting observation/feedback cycles for tutors and providing guidance and support for program improvement at the school level. The Site Director, Tutoring - Chicago will also be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation across schools aligns with the program level goals and structures.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, strategic-thinking education leader who uses data to make decisions and ensures outstanding support to team members and school leaders. They will combine a capacity for deep instructional knowledge; excellent communication skills; and strong relationship building skills with critical internal and external stakeholders to ensure a successful tutoring program implementation. The Site Director, Tutoring Chicago will report directly to the Director, Tutoring Midwest.

The gross salary range for this role is $80k - $100k.

Key Responsibilities:
The Site Director, Tutoring will support Amplify's tutoring program by:
- Directly engaging with school leaders in order to plan, organize, and support implementation of a high-impact tutoring program grounded in research
- Developing trusting relationships with school leaders in order to prioritize high-impact tutoring within the school schedule
- Supporting school leaders in analyzing student achievement data in order to identify students for tutoring
- Providing clear, actionable suggestions in order to improve tutoring implementation at the school level
- Observing tutoring lessons and providing concise, constructive feedback to tutors
- Coaching tutors based on observations
- Developing support plans and improvement plans for tutors to continue to develop and grow in pedagogical and content knowledge
- Using established protocols to ensure fidelity and norming across multiple locations/ schools
- Reporting key metrics of implementation at the school level accurately in order to rollup to the network and program level
- Using data systems in order to have visibility into key metrics of the schools and networks
- Routinely analyzing data to pull out trends across the schools in order to codify findings and prioritize programmatic needs
- Collaborate with the site director team to refine teamwide resources, tools, and processes to support stronger implementations
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of PK-12 school based experience
- 1+ years of experience in a school leadership role
- 2+ years of experience with teacher coaching in both individual and group settings at a school scale
- Experience implementing school-wide programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Science of Reading in early literacy
- Deep understanding of data analysis standard methodologies in order to drive instruction and increase student achievement
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and practices, including methods of differentiating instruction and fostering student engagement
- Proficient with technology (GoogleMeets, Google docs, Google platforms)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience using Amplify mCLASS products
- Experience implementing tutoring programs
