Site Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of Site Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for the creation and implementation of the maintenance strategy of a new manufacturing plant and leading PM capability building. They will also be accountable to the following: creating and implementing a maintenance planning and scheduling system; developing and implementing a time based maintenance program; lead root cause problem solving efforts by leveraging mechanical/electrical component expertise; and the capability development of maintenance leaders as well as the overall organization. Over time, this role will have influence over the maintenance strategies at other sites, commensurate with overall company growth. The Site Maintenance Manager will have direct and indirect reporting relationships with Maintenance Leaders, Maintenance Planners, and Technicians.

This role supports Manufacturing in ensuring production equipment is available and in working condition to produce quality products. This role reports to the VP of Manufacturing and is expected to team with multiple leaders to support base maintenance and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

• Drive a safety-first culture for all maintenance activities at the site
• Develop and lead the maintenance strategy for the site in order to deliver objectives defined by leadership while partnering with manufacturing teams on the execution
• Lead the maintenance function on the development and implementation of PM systems
• Integrate PM systems into the MycoWay (MycoWorks’ novel manufacturing work system) for the site / company
• Accountable for overall maintenance department performance (equipment breakdowns and other KPI’s)
• Provide coaching to the PM Sub-System Owners (Planning & Scheduling, Preventive Maintenance, Storeroom Management, lubrication program, etc.) on safety programs, World Class Maintenance processes, and solving technical problems 
• Develop maintenance culture to be the builders of technical capability for the plant. This requires a strong partnership with other leaders in the areas of: defect identification, CILs, Centerlines, Theory of Operations, Troubleshooting Guides, etc.
• Coach maintenance teams through effective execution of maintenance processes in support of the PM system plan and build capability and ownership of these systems down to the team level
• Responsible for training programs that build core competencies within the maintenance department to promote accurate and timely evaluation and repair of mechanical, electrical, programming and utility systems and processes.
• Partner with manufacturing in the coordination and planning of maintenance activities.
• Responsible for the maintenance budget, participate in the annual budgeting process, support cost goals, and identify productivity opportunities
• Lead productivity opportunities to improve maintenance cost efficiency for the plant
• Attend and support appropriate meetings as part of the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process.
• Support Early Equipment Management Activities, including possible startup leadership for projects within the plant
• Partner with Engineering on design solutions to improve reliability of assets
• Partner closely with Engineering to ensure new equipment and processes are integrated into the maintenance process (PMs, technical information, spare parts, etc.)
• Support site leadership team with the elimination of the site’s top losses
• Lead in-depth failure analyses for the site and train others in the organization to properly lead/execute
• Ensure all maintenance tasks have documented procedures ensuring safe, efficient execution of the task
• Manage all service contracts maintained by the site 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
• 10+ years’ experience of maintenance management experience leading technical teams
• Experience leading PM system development and implementation
• Expert level knowledge of root cause analysis tools (fishbone, why-why, etc.)
• Experience implementing continuous improvement processes (Lean, TPM, etc.)
• 5+ years’ budget and cost management experience
• Process-oriented; able to identify process improvements and implement change successfully
• Experience with new plant start-ups highly preferred
• 5+ years’ experience building and developing maintenance teams

Salary: $130,000 - $133,750
