Overview:
With Trend Micro's accelerated focus on delivering security in the cloud, the expectation for quicker resolutions and more resilient systems is more important than ever. We are looking for an experienced engineer to join a team responsible for the reliability and availability of our SaaS solutions. This role requires experience with the operation of a 24x7 service, strong software development skills, and exceptional abilities to interface with other stakeholders including other development teams, product management, information security, and support teams and customers. Working with other engineers, you will implement best practices to ensure customer success.

• Has a proven track record for working with a group of individuals with the same passion, both in SRE and operations
• Has exceptional prioritization skills, including transparently communicating and justifying time investments
• Effectively collaborates with designers, developers, architects, and operations, about SRE evolutions
• Embraces and presents new technologies and processes with the goals of learning and improving service quality while reducing costs

Responsibilities:

• Monitor systems and handle operational incident management
• Triage support service requests and incidents
• Work with the team through SRE improvements, compliance audits, disaster recovery simulations, and operational incidents drills
• Design and create automation that removes toil from the operational requirements of the services while enabling an increase of velocity for service teams
• Contribute to the enhancement of tools and practices used within the team, keeping a keen eye on customer outcomes
• Collaborate and drive priorities of the team
• Collaborate with DRI and SRE from other regions

Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• Proven SRE experience utilizing SLO/SLIs in a commercial, cloud-based service
• At least two years of experience designing and implementing software with high-level languages including Java or Python
• At least two years of experience in cloud computing with a preference for Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Familiar with various cloud monitoring tools, performance monitoring, and profiling tools
• Understanding with secure coding practices and compliance adherence within a cloud environment including PCI, ISO27001, and SOC2
• Experience in developing infrastructure as code using technologies like CloudFormation, Terraform, and Serverless
• Experience with testing and managing high availability environments
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills in a cross-functional role
• Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline, advanced degree desired
