IMC is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a team responsible for providing services to the growing internal developer community in IMC's offices across the globe.
This team is based in Chicago and responsible for administering and maintaining a wide array of services supporting the software development lifecycle at IMC. As IMC grows in headcount, so does the challenge to achieve target performance and uptime metrics as well as expanding to provide new tools to accelerate user productivity and support increasing business demands.
We are looking for an experienced SRE who will utilize their skillsets and knowledge to expand the abilities of the team and continuously improve the level of service delivered to end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the availability, scalability, and performance of our developer services infrastructure
- Manage source control systems, continuous integration systems, all-Flash network storage appliances, artifact storage and distribution systems, metrics, logging, and observability infrastructure and other systems, both on-premises hosted and utilizing cloud resources/services in AWS
- Onboard new Cloud SaaS offerings, working with other IMC teams to provide new functionality to IMC employees
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure that our systems meet their needs
- Identify and resolve production issues in a timely manner, debugging to identify, mitigate, and solve the root cause of the issue
- Participle in a 'follow the sun' support model with teammates in other regions to ensure 24/7 availability
- Continuously improve our system uptime through automation and monitoring
- Proactively identify bottlenecks in system performance and fix them
- Mentor and train junior teammates
- Collaborate with peer teams which support communications software suites (email, chat, JIRA, Confluence, Workday, etc) to enable workflow integrations for increased efficiency
Requirements:
- Experience with operating and improving web services
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer-interaction skills
- Strong programming experience in Python and shell scripting
- Prior experience with Terraform, Nginx, ELK, TeamCity, GitLab, Django, Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS is a plus but not required
