Position Summary
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join our Production Engineering team. Site Reliability Engineers at SHEIN are hybrid software/systems engineers whose overarching goal is to ensure that Production Services are "Always On." They strive to build the most reliable and performant systems on the planet.
SREs work closely in cross-functional teams to ensure we have the right set of tools to generate, collect, analyze, visualize, and alert on operational data, so we know exactly what happens across the ecosystem and can see problems before they occur and address them as quickly as possible.
As a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain impactful experience that solves actual customer problems in a functional area that ties to your academic and professional interests. You will gain experience developing a tool to use AI to extract and capture information to improve a critical notification system. You will be a part of developing the initial foundation that will allow for expanded application in more complex situations.
Job Responsibilities

• Work in close coordination with other engineers in complex environments on a combination of the following: implement tools to enable teams to go faster, contribute directly to product functionality, and triage and resolve issues
• Participate in the team's software development process and tooling
• Develop new automation strategies for sophisticated and growing distributed systems
• Have a strong interest in researching best practices in software development and sharing new knowledge with the team

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher a degree in Computer Science or equivalent course of study
• 1+ years of coursework in development with Python
• 1+ years of coursework with LINUX particularly with system status tools and service support
• Ability to work well in a team environment and have empathy for others
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to tackle challenging problems and hungry to learn
• Care deeply about quality and the customer experience
• Build elegant and simple solutions
• Adaptable to change, can operate independently and with initiative
• Evaluate ideas based on merit, and consistently work to generate customer value

Nice to have

• Ansible experience
• Development skills including knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) fundamentals and design patterns

Pay: $30.00 Max Hourly
