Job Description As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the Electronic Market Making team, you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation. You'll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment, you'll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As an SRE, you'll be focused on running better production applications and systems.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop the reliability process to ensure the highest level of systems availability, stability, security and performance, including maintenance and support, root cause analysis, systems validation, performance tuning and capacity management.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to identify and implement solutions that meet production, development, and administrative needs in Linux-based environments
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in application and infrastructure operations via simplification and automation.
  • Coordinate between infrastructure, platform and application subject matter experts to promote reliability efforts through communication and best practice sharing.
  • Identify changes for the product architecture from the reliability, performance, and availability perspective with a data driven approach
  • Strong interest in SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance, automation and more
  • Own and suggest improvements to our deployment process and tools
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
  • A self-starter who is willing to take a task from gathering requirements to deployment and maintenance
  • Proficient with configuration management and build tools
  • Experienced in writing/reading Bash, and Python code
  • Have championed new technologies/processes, and architected their design, implementation and delivery to production
  • Can implement and manage high-availability infrastructure solutions with automatic failover
  • Stay on top of current DevOps and infrastructure news
  • Able to work effectively and be pragmatic as part of a remote team in a dynamic business environment
  • Comfortable working independently and able to escalate problems when necessary
  • Can identify problem or opportunity areas, develop and implement fixes and changes as necessary
  • Able to communicate effectively with developers, engineers and upper management
  • Eager to learn; able to understand and apply new things relatively quickly
  • Willing to mentor and guide fellow team members effectively and constructively in a wide variety of disciplines, both technical and business-like in nature
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
  • Experience in application development and support for associated infrastructure Deep experience primarily Trading based application. (Linux Based)
  • Experience with continuous integration environments like Jenkins
  • Experience in designing, building, and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and creativity
  • Experience with Bash and Python Language
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work well in diverse-team-oriented settings with other developers, Product Managers, other SREs, etc.
