Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. CSC Digital Technology (CDT) teams enable technology infrastructure across four global brands, an e-commerce platform, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, e-commerce, data, and supply chain platforms to enhance customer experience and service in an ever-evolving industry.
As an Site Reliability Engineer on the Observability and Foundational Engineering team, you'll enable teams to monitor their sites, apps, systems, and services. You will work closely with e-commerce, supply chain, commerce, and infrastructure teams. You'll be part of a team that will design and implement our new observability platform. You'll share modern observability practices with teams throughout Columbia.
You'll work with a talented team of engineers committed to building an open observability platform that enables CDT to monitor the systems critical to our business's health proactively.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- You will be part of the team creating the observability standards, tools, and practices for teams across CDT.
- You will design, build, and implement our new observability platform focusing on synthetics, metrics, and tracing.
- You will collaborate with technical teams to understand their needs and help define and implement observability solutions to meet them.
- You will provide technical mentorship to engineering teams helping them to align with best practices and open standards to own their observability.
- You will promote opportunities for enhanced observability and refactoring and identify areas of optimization.

- You are a continuous learner who keeps up with the latest technologies and best practices in observability engineering.
YOU HAVE
- You have extensive experience using observability solutions like New Relic, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, Grafana, or similar.
- You have used open standards such as Open Telemetry (OTEL), Open Metrics, and Open Tracing to achieve observability goals.
- You have experience designing and implementing monitoring solutions incorporating synthetic testing, metrics, traces, and logging.
- You are familiar with cloud infrastructure and platform services (CIPS): Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- You have a strong understanding of distributed systems.
- You are proficient in one or more programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, and C#.
