Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM GRC on Cloud has a global cloud presence that continues to grow and expand its reach. Our SRE team handles delivering Platform services with top-notch performance first-rate security fail-safe reliability and exceptional quality. An IBM SRE/DevOps engineer will be the key individual responsible for development and mangement of Automated CI/CD pipelines Security Monitoring tooling for new cloud services on the IBM Cloud Platform. You will get to work with Fortune 1000 Enterprise clients and build hyperscale cloud services for the largest companies in the world. We are a global team so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to collaborate with team members in other time zones.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• About 2-3 years of experience in the role of SRE/DevOps engineer. Experience building SRE/DevOps tooling for a truly distributed architecture-based system will be huge plus.
• Experience in multiple of the following areas is needed:
• Strong understanding of SRE/DevOps methodologies including tools for logging and monitoring.
• Experience in deploying distributed applications in containerized environments such as Docker Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Commitment to automation with the goal of creating automated or automatable solutions.
• Expertise in local and edge caching solutions which is critical in cloud-based environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug both client-side and server-side web-based applications is a preferred skill.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing microservices architectures is highly desirable.”

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong passion for SRE/DevOps security and a desire to stay up to date with emerging technologies.
• Proficient in working with NodeJS GitHub Python Ansible or Java.
• Familiarity with Tekton for building pipelines including unit testing build verification and production code delivery.
• Ability to set up and configure software solutions in cloud environments.
• Self-motivated proactive individuals with experience in agile development.
• Security-conscious approach to development and operations.
• Enthusiasm for learning about CI/CD/Ops pipelines integrating with monitoring and logging tools and deriving insights from alerts and logs.
• Clear proactive communication with clients colleagues and stakeholders about upcoming system changes.
• Initiative to improve customer experience by leveraging advanced techniques and modern technologies to simplify processes.”
