You Are: a deeply technical and creative Staff Site Reliability Engineer who is passionate and technically savvy with a lot of love towards Data centers. You possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and have a knack for fixing servers. Your excellent communication skills enable you to collaborate smoothly with cross-functional teams and represent work to senior leadership. You are comfortable in a matrixed, international, team-oriented environment and are adept at managing priorities and alignments across different stakeholders. You are an experienced and process oriented individual contributor ready to join a new wave of transformation at Synopsys.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Monitor support queues, addressing tickets promptly, and ensuring updates are communicated clearly and succinctly.
  • Assist with diagnosing, fixing, and installing server components.
  • Provide expertise in Hardware reliability engineering for Servers and Systems from concept to retirement.
  • Implement automation strategies to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Track system performance and availability, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Participate in Data Center capacity management forum.
  • Participate in Datacenter On call schedule.

What we need to see:

  • BS (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field, MS is preferred.
  • 5+ years in a hardware validation/reliability environment related to Servers, Storage, PCIE and GPUs.
  • Understand power supply, memory, PCI, Ethernet, Linux operating system and enterprise ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with customer issues, engineering problems, and large-scale systems.
  • Hands-on experience in theoretical and practical Reliability concepts as it relates to high-tech electronic enterprise and consumer products.
  • Have a strong command and understanding of statistical concepts/models/analysis and how they relate to product reliability & life cycle analysis.
  • Good verbal and writing skills as well as the ability to communicate at a high level.
  • Self-motivating, independent, and committed to getting things done.
  • Good project management skills and ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects during development and production stages.

We'd Be Super Excited if You Have

  • Experience with Container management and microservices architecture such as docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Whitebox networking, Cisco ACI and other Network technologies.
  • Familiarity with Synopsys Hardware line like ZeBu, EPs, HAAPs
  • Understanding of ITIL terminology for incident and change management.
  • Experience with Data center power and cooling concepts.
  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure management (DCIM)

Required

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $112,000 - $168,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
