Job Description

Reporting into the Site Manager, the Site Supervisor will supervise, lead and control, in part, operational tasks relating to the yard. They will respond effectively to quality and productivity and health and safety requirements.

• Participating in the operations of the ferrous and non-ferrous departments (unloading customers, sorting, and identifying the different metals, weighing the metals, and entering the information in RECY and operating the machinery, etc.)
• Managing, guiding, and motivating the work team
• Ensuring that the employees follow AIM policies and procedures regarding health and safety in the workplace
• Managing the need for PPE and other equipment, ensuring their proper use, maintenance, and replacement, if necessary
• Performing administrative follow-ups of documents related to production and maintenance.
• Acting as administrative support to the Site Manager

Qualifications

• Proven experience as supervisor will be considered an asset
• Experience in metal scrap industry will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of different commercial trucks and forklifts
• Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Good knowledge of Outlook, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Must work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and follow in accordance with AIM’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Responsible for reporting all accidents, illnesses, or ‘near miss’ incidents to management

HOURS OF WORK

• Permanent full-time position
• 44 hours per week, able to work extended hours/weekends when deemed necessary
