S&N College Scholars Summer Intern
Job Description
Role Overview:
S&N is seeking an Intern to assist in various departments. The candidate must be enrolled in a university or college and seeking an under- graduate degree in the fields business, psychology, sociology or engineering. You must be a participant in the S&N REACH Memphis Mentoring Program and/or the S&N MASE STEM program and full-time college student. The position will assist in completing a variety of administrative activities (listed below) to support marketing, communication and/or human resources branding and market growth. The candidate will work on a team and carry out assignments as directed by them. At the end of the internship, the candidate will have gained experience implementing a wide variety of entry level business principles and programs which contribute to company strategy. They will also interface with various business partners and assist in developing streamlined processes and organization techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Excel spreadsheet for tracking and organization
- Schedule meetings, prepare attendees, and complete follow up actions
- Organize and file records
- Organize receipts for T&E submissions
- Use PowerPoint presentation template development
- Facilitate meeting to ensure presenters stay on task and meeting end on time
Location:
Memphis, TN
Education:
- Must be currently matriculated at an accredited university as an undergraduate majoring in accounting, finance, engineering or a similar discipline
- Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.0 preferred
Experience:
- Previous applicable intern, part-time or apprenticeship experience is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Competences:
- Strong communication skills including technical writing, listening, and speaking; ability to influence others
- High learning agility with the ability to analyze and synthesize data and then present it to senior leaders
- Must be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive project completion
- Independent thinking and the ability to work within a team is required
- Ability to assess technical issues and develop solutions utilizing an analytical approach to problem solving
- Requires the ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple tasks, and assignment changes, in a dynamic business
- Time management and organization skills are a must
