Snowflake Administrator/Engineer

Position is for Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Administrator/Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience with Snowflake setup, installation, administration and migration from data warehouse to Snowflake. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are preferred.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• 2+ years experience with Snowflake administration.
• Hands-on experience in relational Databases, Data Warehouse and Data marts.
• Hand-on experience in Snowflake cloud data platform migrations.
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS alerting/monitoring tools.
• Excellent performance and tuning skills of large workloads in Data Warehouse and BigData.
• Demonstrated proficiency of index design, query plan optimization and analysis required.
• Scripting Skills - Shell and Python.
• Familiarity with Cloud Architecture (Public and Private clouds) - AWS , AZURE familiarity.
• Prior experience of administration of relational databases or Teradata.
• Willingness to learn new skills and new knowledge.

Tasks and Major Responsibilities include:

• Work as admin on Snowflake on AWS i.e., Installation, configuration, upgrades and migration.
• Responsible for implementation and on-going administration of Snowflake Cloud Data Platform
• Work on Snowflake security aspects, AD Authentication and RBAC authorization.
• Snowflake monitoring and alerts setup.
• Performance tuning of Snowflake workload, cluster config, scripts and code. Analyze job execution issues and resolve
• Troubleshooting connectivity issues between BI tools like OBIEE, SAS, Tableau, Alteryx and Snowflake on AWS.
• Participate in HA, Backup and DR solution for Snowflake.
• Available for 24*7 Snowflake support issues
• Work with data delivery teams to setup new Snowflake in AWS.
• Participate in new use cases/applications identification and migration to Snowflake
• Evaluate and implement new initiatives on technology and process improvements.

Technical Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
• Candidate will have 1 to 2 years' experience with Snowflake administration.
• Hands-o experience in relational Databases, Data Warehouse and Data marts.
• Hand-on experience in Snowflake cloud data platform migrations.
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS alerting/monitoring tools
• Excellent performance and tuning skills of large workloads in Data Warehouse and BigData.

Base Pay Range: $121,600/yr. - $202,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
