Snowflake Solutions Engineer

Do you have experience developing algorithms to analyze raw data and find trends in data sets? Are you an expert at SQL databases and have worked with multiple scripting languages?  Does working alongside business leaders to understand how complex datasets align with their objective interest you?  If so, then you might be Fivesky’s Snowflake Solutions Engineer!

Who you are: 

• 7+ years as an experienced Data engineer with SQL, and 1+ year(s) experience building solutions in the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
• Experienced in developing end to end data pipelines for small and large scale data sets from a variety of sources based on specification.
• Practical experience with data loading/unloading techniques structure & unstructured data and warehouse selection to onboard small and large scale data in snowflake tables.
• Familiar with basic concepts of cloud storage solutions and understands how they integrate with Snowflake as external stages.
• Past work with projects on legacy data warehouses such as Netezza or Teradata.
• Experienced in working with database administration platforms such as AWS Spark or Databricks.
• Extensive work with various types of SQL, including standard, analytical, and snowflake specific extended SQLs.
• Engineer minded, with a solid understanding of data validation processes using utilities or manual processes.
• Programming or Scripting Skills (Python Highly Preferred) 

What you will do:

• Optimize and enhance customer data pipelines to create improvements in the production environment using snowflake query history and profile features.
• Work alongside business leaders to both understand their unique goals, while simultaneously educating them on using the platform themselves. 

It would be awesome if you had the following:

• End to End Data migration experience from Legacy platforms  to Snowflake Cloud Data.
• Infrastructure platforms (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, etc.)
• Knowledge of industry trends in the virtual data warehouse space
• AWS services (S3, Kinesis, Elastic MapReduce, Data pipeline)
• Worked with various database tools (Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse.)
• SnowPro Advanced Certifications: Architect and or Data Engineer 
• Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau preferred*, Microstrategy or Business Objects secondary)
• ETL project / pipelines (Fivetran preferred*) or Extract, Transform or Load
