Social Media Lead
Job Description
Care of Chan is seeking a part time Social Media Lead to assist with executing our agencyβs Instagram content and social media strategy. The ideal candidate should bring 2-3 years of experience working with social media at an agency or in-house at a food, lifestyle, or fashion brand. This position will report directly to the Content and Programming Manager, and responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a monthly calendar in Planable, including but not limited to:
- Curating select images and video for socials from Care of Chan-produced events
- Drafting caption copy according to brand guidelines
- Posting to feed and stories
- Work with the Content and Programming Manager to develop a social-specific style guide, ensuring we stick to brand guidelines, visual aesthetic, and voice across all posts and platforms
- Creating original social content, attending select Care of Chan-produced events to capture photos and short form video
- Reformatting Care of Chan web content for social channels
- Regular community management, including inbox management, comment replies, and follower upkeep
- Collaborating on growth strategy and new content ideas, especially video
- Compile monthly reports on performance and analytics, as well as insights on trends that may be relevant to our growth strategy
- Familiarity with other software and platforms used for our editorial, such as Figma, Sanity, and Mailchimp, is preferred but not required.
In addition to sharing your resume, please also share a brief portfolio or links to 4-5 examples of previous social content you have created for brand or editorial clients. If you collaborated with other creators, please indicate what your role was in each post. Love of food and gathering is a must, as well as a keen eye for good design.
We are looking for candidates based in New York City, so that they can attend occasional meetings and events as needed for content capture, but the bulk of the work can be performed remotely. The Social Media Lead is a part-time (roughly 6-10 hours per week), hourly, non-exempt employee position. Pay rate: $40/hour
