Social Media Manager

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing strategies for owned and operated brand channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube). The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, self-starter, and organized multi-tasker with a deep understanding of various platforms, how to connect with audiences, content planning, and cultural trends. We are seeking a Social Media Manager to help us expand our digital footprint and oversee our social communications efforts.

**This position will be based out of the Dallas office. Relocation assistance is available**

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development: 
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and agency partners to develop and implement a social media strategy adhering to the company’s overall goals and objectives. 
• Work with the Marketing Director to plan and execute social media / influencer campaigns and promotions, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with broader marketing initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure our social media efforts remain cutting-edge.
• Content Creation: 
• Build/manage the editorial content calendar, working closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure the narratives ladder up to the overall strategy.
• Work with the creative team to capture and curate compelling content for various social media platforms. This will require cross-collaboration, the management of assets from our scientists and animal operations teams, as well as occasionally filming in the laboratories / offices in Dallas.
• Community Engagement: 
• Foster and grow an active and engaged community across all owned social media channels.
• Respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly and interactively to enhance brand advocacy.
• Stay on top of emergent channels by monitoring conversation and looking for opportunities to expand.
• Distribution: 
• Post / schedule all approved content.
• Amplification: 
• Work with our agency partner to oversee the management and approval of all paid media initiatives. 
• Analytics and Reporting: 
• Monitor social media metrics, track performance, and analyze data through our management software, Sprout Social, and the platforms themselves to continually improve/optimize strategy and content.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or communications
• Experience in biotech, biology, tech brand and/or experience in an early-stage start-up environment is a major plus
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, trends, and best practices
• Experience running and scaling brand social accounts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
