Key Responsibilities

Calendar Management

  • Social Media Manager develops and oversees the outline and monthly calendar for social media content
  • Participates in cross department meetings to stay abreast to changing product deliverables and other information that impacts calendar
  • Aligns calendar/posts to Brand Pillars. Integrates seamlessly with other channels of marketing (SEO, catalogs retail, events, digital marketing) in collaboration with GTM and Ecommerce Teams.

Content Production Management and Content Creation

  • Work in an omni channel mindset on brand content Initiatives specializing in the social ideation and execution within the brand pillars for organic social content and activations
  • Communicates needs/expectations regarding grid composition, platform technicalities and final asset deliverable formats.
  • Content Creation – Works alongside Social Media Coordinator and Content team to manage the creation of socially native content.
  • Coordination- Works within Content team and alongside Creative Coordinator to coordinate appropriate parties for participation of initiatives.

Community Management

  • Actively engage in social media conversations with followers and influencers.
  • Monitor for and escalate sensitive issues to leadership.
  • Develop cross functional team relationship with CX and CS to ensure correct responses to community
  • Advise and works alongside Paid Agency on any community management issues within Paid campaigns
  • Refresh/revamp community management guidelines and escalation procedures. Work with Copy to revise internal Social Media Guidelines.

Metric Interpretation and Analysis Reporting

  • Leverage analytics, customer research, competitive analysis, and seasonal sales trends to put the content in front of the customers at the right time.
  • Creation of monthly reports on engagement.
  • Work with Business Intelligence Analyst on any relevant insights, data and metrics

Social Research

  • Remaining current and educated on all platforms, emerging platforms, changes to platforms and advances in technology and algorithmic developments.

Brand Advocacy

  • Be the voice of Shinola in the social space and represent the best interest of the brand in proposed creative from partners
  • Form key relationships with influencers and brand enthusiasts and VIPs across the social media landscape.

Strategy

  • Working inside and alongside Creative, Marketing, PR and other departments, Social Media Manager will contribute to compelling content strategies to drive growth through content that expands brand awareness and metrics.
  • Help to define the strategy and ongoing optimization of social media across channels inline with the wider marketing strategy and revenue goals.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree in Communications/Marketing or a similar field
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in a social managerial role
  • Explores and identifies emerging trends, things happening in culture to find new ways to engage and reach targeted guests/audiences.
  • Stays current and assesses industry and social media trends, tools, new platforms, innovations, and best practices.

Hiring Overview:

  • Take home assignment - 30minutes -2 hours of work
