Poker Power is a company led by women for women with the goal of teaching 1 million women+ how to play the game of poker. ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to help translate our marketing goals to social deliverables (eg. grow channels, identify a learning agenda, facilitate testing). This person will be responsible for amplifying our brand's voice across digital platforms (paid and organic), growing our social footprint, fostering meaningful relationships with our audience, and driving strategic engagement.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful self-starter who can activate an organic and paid social strategy, help define our editorial strategy and create brand storytelling content on their own (additional creative resources will be provided.) Comfort with analytics, paid execution and distilling insights to inform future strategy is a must. This role will report directly to our Head of Marketing.
This is a 6 month contract with potential to become full time and can be based out of our LA, Chicago, or New York City offices.
What you'll do:

  • Use your proven experience in social media growth and engagement strategy and execution. Develop playbooks for growth and engagement aligned to Poker Power's mission and vision.
  • Own and manage our social media channels (e.g. Meta platforms, TikTok, X), YouTube and emerging mediums.
  • Own strategic implementation of paid media across social channels.
  • Help define and own the Poker Power editorial/programming calendar and build a content strategy rooted in data, creative best practices and drives upper funnel growth.
  • Develop a clear POV on the purpose of each distribution channel as a driver of larger business goals, and establish corresponding goals (i.e. TikTok organic is for brand awareness attached to engagement goal).
  • Track key performance metrics and build a social media measurement framework across all platforms that informs our strategy and optimizes performance
  • Assist in the building of social partnerships and influencer strategy that supports broader Marketing goals.


YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years experience managing social and building communities for brands. Proven track record of starting, innovating, and scaling brand channels. Direct experience in D2C, learning, start up or lifestyle preferred.
  • Resourceful and capable of producing creative and engaging content that is low lift such as memes and stills using Photoshop and TikTok / Reels using native tools is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of all current and emerging social media platforms.
  • Expert at social analytics and familiar with reporting programming and reporting platforms is a must (DashHudson, Later or similar platforms).
  • Creative thinker and problem solver who moves quickly and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


The compensation for this role is $50.00 - $57.00 per hour, however pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
